What is a Clinical Trial?

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) a clinical trial is any research study that assigns human participants to one or more health-related interventions to evaluate the effects on health outcomes.

Clinical trials aim to discover new drugs, surgical procedures, radiologic procedures, devices, behavioral treatments, process-of-care changes, preventive care, etc. There are IV phases conducted for every clinical trial. To read more about them - click here.
